The Silver State Got Under My Skin
I drove to Las Vegas on a whim one weekend from Southern California — and something about the state just grabbed me. The Strip was the obvious first stop, but it was the places beyond the neon that got me hooked: the fire-red sandstone of Valley of Fire, the wooden boardwalks of Virginia City, the impossibly blue water of Lake Tahoe.
I've driven thousands of miles across this state since then — I-15, US-93, the Loneliest Road in America (US-50), the mountain passes around Lake Tahoe, the ghost-town back roads through the basin-and-range country. I've hiked in summer heat that nearly broke me and watched snow blanket the Sierra Nevada in January.
I'm not a travel blogger. I work in healthcare IT. But Nevada keeps pulling me back, and I finally decided to put everything I've learned into something useful — a site with real knowledge, honest prices, video content from the places I've actually been, and an AI trip planner that builds itineraries from real experience.
Discover Nevada is the resource I wished existed when I first started exploring this state.
